Dr. Robert Barone practices with the Eye Physicians of Sussex County, New Jersey, specializing in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina, Vitreous, and Macula. He is also a Clinical Instructor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has authored several publications and was consulting editor on MEDCIN – a New Nomenclature for Clinical Medicine, by Peter S. Goltra. He serves on the Georgetown University Alumni Association Board of Governors and Medical Alumni Board. He has appointments at Newton Memorial Hospital and Eye Physicians of Sussex County, Newton, New Jersey, as well as Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown New Jersey and University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is an American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology Fellow, and member of several other professional associations.
He graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and interned in Internal Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey, where he also did a residency in Ophthalmology. He completed fellowships in Medical Retina and Retinal Electrophysiology, and Surgical Retina and Ocular Trauma at Cornell Medical Center, New York, New York.
